I recently discovered the brand Miss Oops, and upon testing out several of the products, I must admit: I’m addicted! The products are so practical and effortless to use, that I almost look forward to my next “oops” moment so that I can whip them out! The item the brand is most know for, and the one that I always have in my handbag is the Miss Oops Rescue Sponge, $10, that miraculously removes those nuisance stains that appear on your clothes such as makeup, deodorant, or powder. The brand also offers other products to simplify some of those little annoying issues you may have with your clothing such as Show Stoppers (reusable nipple covers), Mishap Tape (for bra straps, gaping tops, etc), Pucker Protector (combine lip balm and gloss), and Pedicure in a Bottle (hydrates & exfoliates feet).

Plus, the Critical Care Kit makes a great holiday or birthday gift for practically any female friend or loved one in your life; and on sale for $22.80, it’s the right price for us budget-conscious “oops” babes!

Get in Shape, Girl

I don’t know about you, but for some reason I tend to get in the best shape during the fall and winter months. Backwards I know.  Aren’t you supposed to be extra fit and trim during the summer when you are showing a bunch of skin? Yeah, probably but I am clearly not normal.  Maybe its because I am gym rat/yoga studio junkie, which means working out indoors and what better time to be indoors than when the weather is less than perfect. Well enough rationalizing, this is a blog not therapy.

Anyway, I like to mix it up when I work out but there is one particular workout that I can’t live without: yoga. Yoga is a great workout both mentally and physically. You don’t need much to do it but an open mind and a mat BUT if you are like me … a few other things never hurt.

fitness> Bringing your own mat is pretty crucial. You can borrow mats but the germs on those things are gnarly, so I recommend bringing your own … in a cool yoga mat bag. For only $20 you can lug your mat (and all of your other essentials) stylishly to and from class.

> Another great thing to have if you feel like doing yoga but aren’t in the studio at the moment, are these cards. The Yoga Deck an illustrated deck of cards for yogis of all levels. This makes it so easy to head out to the park and get your downward dog on.

> My final must have is a post workout snack. I am always starving after I workout and I find that a nice smoothie is the perfect way to sneak in some vitamins in a seriously delicious way.  If you need any help in the smoothie recipe department, the book Super Smoothies will be your new best friend.

A whole lotta leather for fall

Leather

Confession: I have an old, designer knock-off leather hoodie from Old Navy scored for about $50 on Ebay, probably 4 years ago. The leather isn’t supple, buttery or any of the adjectives that usually get my mouth watering, but it does its duty, the perfect outwear for that summer dress as well as those black skinnies and shimmery top. Even better, it has started to degrade so that the brown flecks show at the elbow, turning it into something uniquely mine.  I have grown to love this jacket, it’s not a piece I worry about spilling a little wine on, or shoving into the bottom of a bag with god knows what lurking in its depths.  Plus, I’ve worn it on some pretty Important Life Events, so it has sentimental value.

However, this homage to “the little knock-off that could” does nothing to satiate my lust for a real lux leather bomber jacket of my own. Upgrading from “does the job” to a really well-made, so soft you want to wear it to bed leather jacket is a dream of mine. Currently,  I have my eye on this gunmetal leather jacket as well as the more traditional black bomber pictured above.

Like the LBD or the trench, the white t-shirt or whatever other fashion staples make it on the quintessential List, I wholeheartedly add leather jacket. It’s a year-round must-have, yet a decidedly appropriate investment for fall. Trust Ms. Amos (and me) on this one, ladies.

Hi everyone, it’s Jeanette. Along with the Manhattanite bloggers, I’ll be dropping in with a “love-it list” post occassionally to highlight my favorite items from the shop.
It seems like so many women get pregnant in the summer. I can count at least 10 friends and family members that are expecting right now. Aahhh, the joys of shopping for the mom-to-be and new baby! Organizing the Busy Exec

"The Executive"I tend to get overwhelmed with tasks often – all the time really. But I think I do it to myself. Not only do I strive to do everything under the sun all at once, I try to do it without any organization. As I type, I have post-its surrounding me, a full trash can under the desk, and magazines piled on top of my printer. Yikes! So any sort of resources that can keep me on track of what is priority is magic.

And I have found a section on Manhattanite that makes me smile and go “phew!” In addition to selling clothes, shoes, and accessories, this site also features must-haves that support individual lifestyles. If you can relate to me and my office chaos, “The Executive” is for you! Check out how cute this illustration is! There are solutions for everyone. “The Socialite” and “The Jetsetter” are also faves of mine.

Gift This: Movies To See Notepad

Lately when the topic of movies comes up, the conversation always takes the same turn; “You haven’t seen that?” or “Where have you been!” or “You’re joking, right?”

Basically if it’s a classic, really well known, or worthy of an award — I haven’t seen it. Need an example? Okay, this one seems to sum up my point pretty well … Star Wars. Yep that’s right, I haven’t seen Star Wars. You see, Ben Stiller movies are more my speed.

Movies To See Notepad

Movies To See Notepad

I have disgusted my co-workers with my movie antics for the last time. This disgust has resulted in them rattling off a list of movies that I need to see. I have this list written down on some random Hello Kitty post-it note that is currently buried somewhere in my Gucci handbag. The list will probably never surface again.

That smashed up sheet of paper seems pretty foolish considering this awesome notepad exists. Not only would this notepad be handy for a movie flunky like myself but it would also make a nice addition to a movie gift pack. Think about it — Popcorn, a few DVDs, and this sweet notebook tucked inside a chic little tote. Sounds like something that I would like to receive as a gift (hint, hint.)
