I do so whether I’m feeling cheery or when I’m feeling blue. I do so whether I am bloated and puffy or when I have lost five pounds. And unfortunately, I do so while wearing heels after an eight-hour work shift. Of course, most of us know how to spend long days wearing stilettos, peep toes, or wedges to work. But hitting a retail store or boutique when the dogs are barking – after work — is a no-no. The last time I wore my pink pointy heels to the mall on a Friday after work, I wanted to cry. Because I enjoy walking the mall also for exercise, I found myself instead taking little shuffle steps and ending my shopping trip about an hour early. So trivia: How could I have prevented this from occurring? Well, number one would be to stop repeating my mistake and assuming that I can tough it out. Number two: I should have remembered to bring a cute pair of flats with me to change in.
