What would you do if you felt like you didn’t fit in with the crowd, a certain sub-culture or even with the current fashion trends? I see many people I know conforming to the norm blindly, but luckily for me, I’ve always been a rebel which gives me some kind of immunity from caring about what most people think.
Through my personal style, I have found the skin that I am happy to be in and everyday I feel as though I am discovering more about myself through what I like in fashion.
A metallic silver jacket, black leather flat boots and a grey dress are what I consider my style essentials. I am always on the lookout for these three things no matter what the fashion trends are and I feel very strongly that these items are a huge part of me.
When I first started blogging, I was living in cold and wet Britain, but these days I live back home in Singapore where it is hot and humid (but still wet!) instead. Therefore, the things I see myself picking up when I am shopping in stores seem to put me in the direction of a more laid-back version of my covered-up style back in the UK.
Speaking of laid-back style, I am favouring some carelessly cool pieces on Manhattanite which will easily fit in with my style essentials. The way I see it is that I will make things, in this case fashion fit in with me and not the other way round!

My Manhattanite Picks:
1. David Lerner Organic Cap Sleeve Pocket Tee
I can never have enough grey shirts that hide what I don’t want others to see and show off what I want others to notice. I love the super short sleeves on this one.
2. Siwy Camilla Cut-Off Shorts in Charm
I had my eye on these for awhile now. I just love the light, barely there baby blue wash. It is just asking for the rebel in me to team it with something tough and dark.
3. Lauren Moshi Sword Heart Grommet Hoodie in Black
Grommets are on my mind a lot at the moment. This is definitely the most sensual hoodie ever with your décolletage on show. I think my little grey dress agrees with it too!
4. CC Skye Woven Leather & Chain Bangle
I like my jewelry to enhance the clothes I already have and this is just one of those versatile pieces that go with everything.
